Does Bank Efficiency Affect the Bank Lending Channel in China?

چکیده
This work examines the impact of bank efficiency on lending channel in China. Using a sample 175 Chinese banks over period 2006–2017, we investigate how reaction loan supply to monetary policy actions depends bank’s efficiency. While does not exert an effectiveness transmission overall, it favor for with low loan-to-deposit ratios. In addition, expansion shadow banking activities has been associated positive transmission. These results suggest that may influence certain cases.
